petros messis

Petros Messis is currently an Assistant Professor of Finance, at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a PhD in Finance from the same University (2015). He also holds a Master’s degree in Financial Economics and Econometrics from University of Essex (2006) and a Master’s degree in Management from Staffordshire University (2005). In July 2004 he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Thessaly. Previously he was with the Department of Accounting, Technological Educational Institute of Larissa, Greece and the Department of Business Administration, Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece.
His research interests are closely related to asset pricing, financial markets, time series analysis, risk-management, converging processes, and herding behavior.
So far, he has published several research papers within international and recognized journals (International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Applied Economics, Journal of Policy Modeling, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance etc.) while he has also participated in different international conferences.
He has also worked in the ‘Please Enter’ (Role: Administrative and scientific support) and ‘Archimedes II’ (Role: researcher) projects both funded by National Support Framework Program (EPEAEK) (Projects’ Organization: TEI of Thessaly, Larissa, GR).
